Well, we just packed up our stuff and now we are on the way to Rhotenburg, Germany (4 hour drive). Sounds fun!
We take an exit off of the main highway to see a small Polish town close up. This little venture turns into a HUGE detour in to the middle of farm fields and the middle of absolutely nowhere! We are a little worried that we might never find civilization again, but Genie gets us to the right place - she's pretty amazing, and so is the driver!
Our place in Rhotenburg fell through, so I have nightmares of reliving the first night in Paris, but as we drive into the town - with no place to sleep - there is a wall full of B&B listings in town. As I am looking, a car pulls up behind us and the man owns a B&B with openings. We take three small rooms and are happy to have a place to stay! I shared with Peyton. The rooms are tiny and super short - poor Benson. Each has a little table in it, for you to grab your breakfast from the hallway counter and eat in your room.
Rhotenburg is this adorable 13th century medieval
village, almost perfectly preserved - surrounded by a city fortress
wall. It's absolutely picturesque - I love it!
Later, we went to this little amusement park with like five rides and lots of shops. Dad gave me, Dallin, and Ashlynn 50 Euros to split (about $16.50). First, me and Ash got a big soft ice cream and a chocolate, banana crepe. We went on a ride called the Rainbow! It was so scary. You slid from side to side. It was awesome! The kids got mom and dad to ride the Rainbow too. |
The rides are similar (except for the safety factor - the only thing holding you into the Rainbow is a bar that is like one foot off of your lap). Peyton loves the bumper cars, but Kennedi isn't so sure - she thinks it's painful.
Even Tanner gets to join in on the fun! |
