Camping is very popular among the Europeans. They have large camps full of tents and mobile homes all set up with cots. So we decide to try European camping! Our campsite is close to the ocean, but I didn't realize that summer doesn't really begin here until the middle of July. The pool is closed and it is chilly and rainy - oops. Lots of stores are closed until busy season and our mobile home - although 3 bedrooms - is tiny! We can't even fit our suitcases in it, so we leave them in the car.
We find the Dune de Pilat. A giant sand dune - 30 stories high! Today it is in the 60's and dry, which is perfect for the dunes. Once we climb to the top, Dallin, Ashy, Peyton, Kennedi and I run all
the way down the front side of the dune to the ocean. The tide is out
and there are crabs
everywhere. We try to catch them as they
scamper sideways, but are a little weary of their pinchers. It is time
to go back and we realize that what comes down, must go back up and it's
a lot harder! We all run down and the kids go back up for another
adventure. It was fun!

"Today, we got breakfast from the market and we got my fav.
pastry. It was like a croissant with chocolate in it - Yummy! Anyway, we
drove around France looking for fun things to do. The weather was
raining and windy and it was getting late, so we had to go back and
today was the day that the three oldest kids got a challenge. If we
could read the book of Mormon by the end of this trip, Dallin and
Ashlynn would get an Itouch and I would get a phone! So me and Ashlynn
started right away! We cruised through 1st Nephi that night on the Ipad.
Then went to bed." Talie
