Day 44: CZECH ME OUT Prague! (June 27)

Today we woke up and relaxed at home for a few hours.
A memorial to remind the people what communism did the people and nation of Prague -when they were under Russia's rule.
Then, we walked to this hill that had a tram that took us to a really tall hill (Petrin hill) where you could see the whole city from!

Talie, Dallin, Ashlynn, Kennedi & I climb the top of a mini. Eiffel tower to see the aerial view of Prague.
Then we played at a park, then went back to another tram, that took us down. On the way back to the apartment, we got ice cream.

Outside of our Prague apartment.

Then, we get into the car and visit St. Charle's bridge. The most enjoyable 500 meter walk in all of Europe! This bridge was built in the 1300's. Each side is complete with cool medieval tower arches, and it is lined with statues every few feet. The cobblestone surface is overflowing with tourists, jewelry shops, artist stands and street performers.
The view is amazing! From the river, to the statues lining the bridge, to the constant castles and cathedrals everywhere you look, it is hard to take it all in. This city is unique in this part of Europe, as it remained free from being bombed during any of the world wars, leaving a sprinkling of buildings from all different eras.
Czech Republic is beautiful! Every where you looked was a perfect picture. There were castles, churches, red roof tops and hills. Prague was amazing!
We walk around, snapping photos at every turn, looking at shops filled with artwork, nesting dolls, masks and t-shirts, etc.,
We find a restaurant to take cover in just as it begins to rain. The kids order crepes and ice cream, and I try my first chicken Schnitzel - yum! Oh, and the mashed potatoes are buttery, seasoned bites of heaven! Comfort food! It's been awhile since we have had some!

Then we walk back over the bridge and back home. Prague is an amazing surprise! Even fireworks to end the night.
