Day 63: All Roads lead to Rome and pick up Grandma & Grandpa Walker (July 16):

Today we take off to Rome! AHHH! We finally get to our apartment but can’t get a hold of our landlord to let us in. Finally after emailing on the I pad, they let us in.
The elevator is a little different, you have to open the outer door and the two interior doors, and shut them all tight before the elevator will move. It takes the girls awhile to figure it out. Our Italian neighbor started yelling at me! Because it wouldn’t move! He even walks down a couple of flights of stairs to get right in Benson’s face and yell at him. So Dad grabbed him by the shirt and hung him up against the wall! Italians speak just like they do in the movies – very animated, and always yelling.
Italian is so similar to Spanish! Dad, Dallin and I walked five minutes from our apartment to the Vatican City. It’s so cool! It’s got this huge Catholic church where the pope would come out and stand on a balcony and bless everyone! This place is considered a different country! I love the outside of the church. It had large statues on top of it! I really like it!

Then we took off to the train station looking for Grandma and Grandpa Walker. We were not sure which station they were at, so we hoped for the main one! After one hour of looking, we hoped they took a taxi to our apartment! We drop the kids off at the apartment, and are disappointed that Grandma & Grandpa aren’t in front of the apartment. But seconds later, Dallin comes running downstairs, saying they made it to our apartment – phew!
