Day 60: A drive through Slovenia & a night on a Croatian beach (July 13):

20 more days. Wow! Since we left Switzerland a day early and decide not to  stay a night in Lake Como, we have an extra two days, so we decide to go to Slovenia and Croatia for the weekend – how exotic does that sound!?!
We stop for lunch on the coast – Flamar, Slovenia. We get some food and eat on a picnic bench with a park. Then we continue on to Rijeka, Croatia (about four hours of a drive). We find our little hotel that doesn’t show up on our GPS, luckily we pass by a sign that points us to it.

We found our little hotel/restaurant and took our suitcases up four flights of stairs. We got into our swimsuits and took off to a nearby beach. Croatia’s beaches are rocky. Anyway, we found it and we found this spot on all these rocks you could dive off of.  The water was warm.
Me, Ash, and Peyton were picking snails off of rocks.

I love the evenings! The scalding heat turns into a perfectly warm evening, the light is peaceful, if any – crowds are gone and it’s completely relaxing. Nowhere to rush to. Almost always accompanied by ice cream – and only bedtime ahead of us.

we went home and ate at the hotel restaurant. Their food was good!

No, they don't serve bugs on the menu, they are just there for entertainment.
