Day 17: Day trip to Gibraltar

Today we went to Gerbreter (Gilbratar). It was a super long drive (1hour and 40minutes)." Ashlynn. The roads are so windy, people get sick. We pass countless white villages nestled in rolling hills and mountains and I am glad that we are able to live in one to see how the villagers live their daily lives.
From a distance, you can see the famous rock of Gibraltar. "It is its own country (a British colony) so we needed to show passports. The line was huge to get in. There were lots of honking. We finally got in. We parked the car . . .

and after walking for like three minutes there was this big Chimp just sitting on a bench. No one else was looking at it. They were used to it, but we took pictures. it was so funny!" Talie

"When we got there, there were tons of plants.

Then we saw a monkey. He was sitting on a bench. Just chilling." Ashlynn.

The monkeys came up from Africa before the Moors and are still there. Legend says that when the last monkey is gone, England will lose rule over Gibraltar, so the monkeys are very protected.
"Then we were hungry for lunch, so the kids ate at Burger King. We payed $50 (38 pounds) just for the kids! The parents got fish and chips at somewhere else." Ashlynn.

"The waitress was not nice at all, so it was an interesting meal." Talie. Here, we get our first feel for the British and relate them with high prices and teeth that come in colors we have never seen before.

"We saw guards at the governor of Gibraltar's house. It was super cool. I saw them transition. They would yell." Ashlynn.

"Then we sat in the car and waited for Mom and Dad to get our ferry tickets for Morocco tomorrow." Talie.
"Then we did the long drive home." Ashlynn.
