The view of the Mediterranean from our balcony. |

Peyton, excited about our home with it's very own pool! |

It is time to go to the beach! We were only about 12minutes from the beach. On the way, we bought boogey boards and a volleyball. The water was very chilly. We saw a couple of topless grandmas, so we felt like we were in Spain. |
|
Although it was cold, everyone made it in. "At the beach, Dad taught me and Talie how to use the buggy bords. Talie was scared of the sharks. We didn't go out that far and didn't see any sharks."Ashlynn |

Even Tanner Got in. |

After about an hour, we decided to stop at a mercado and head back home. "On our way home, we sort of got lost, (my Dad wouldn't admit it)." Dallin. We drove around for awhile, and knew we were lost, but found a cute little white village with beautiful fuchsia flowers. In one, Benson wanted to back up and get the perfect photo op. The dirt road was so narrow between the little houses, that as he backed up, he went right off someone's front step and . . .
high centered the car. It was only our 5th day. Sure, we had AAA, but we were literally in the middle of nowhere. We actually didn't know where we were, and we had no phone. A little old lady sat in her front yard and stared for a few minutes until she lost interest. And an older gentleman came out of his house and just stood there staring at our car for about 10 minutes, not saying a word, or offering to help.

Benson, ever the calm optimist in times of stress. |
Benson and I kind of grumbled about this man, when I came up to him and asked him a question in Spanish. He responded in English with a thick English accent. It turned out that he was from England and had moved to this tiny village about 15 years ago to live a life of peace and quiet - except for today=).
He and a friend, who was also English, rummaged in their "garages" to find some wood to try to prop under the rear tire, as the jack would not lift the car high enough to clear the step.
After finding some boards and ramps, the car was high enough, we thought we could drive up and over the step.

This is the infamous step. And, after all of that, this is the closest we got to our great photo op.

After that adventure, we decided to go back home! We plugged the address
into our GPS, Genie, and we relaxed and hung out at the pool.

Nothing is more rewarding to the kids than to be able to push Dad into the pool. Now, we can't go swimming with out pushing someone in. |
